The FLUX is a compact, maintenance-free, realistic trainer with interactive direct drive. Thanks to the fast reacting smart electronics and the 7 kg flywheel, even the smallest differences in the legs are noticed.
Of all Tacx trainers, the FLUX has the heaviest actual flywheel with a flywheel effect of 25 kg. The stronger the flywheel effect, the more realistic the riding experience. The FLUX Smart communicates via ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart and can therefore connect wirelessly to smartphones and tablets. The ANT+ FE-C protocol makes it possible to train Tacx apps as well as third-party apps such as Zwift and TrainerRoad. It can also be trained in standalone mode. Not connected, a flat road is simulated.
It is possible to connect the FLUX Smart to a computer. The upgrade Smart Art. T-2990 is required. This upgrade kit consists of: Tacx Trainer Software 4 Advanced, a handlebar interface and an ANT+ antenna. The control of the resistance and the reading of the performance data is then carried out via the computer instead of a tablet or smartphone.
The FLUX has a universal EDCO Multysis freewheel that fits any Shimano and SRAM cassette and most Campagnolo cassettes. Whether or not it fits depends on the number of recesses on the inside of the cassette. Campagnolo cassettes with 8 recesses, like those of the 10-speed Veloce, do not fit. The freewheel body is not yet compatible with the 11-tooth sprockets of the new SuperRecord, Record and Chorus 11-speed cassettes. 12-tooth sprockets can be used.
The dimension 200 mm (hub centre - base FLUX) must not be exceeded by the length of the rear derailleur cage and pinion size. This can occur with MTB rear derailleurs and also with RR rear derailleurs in combination with a pinion >= 32 teeth.
The reading of the performance data is possible on different devices at the same time, for example on the smartphone and bicycle computer or a sports watch.
