In terms of performance, this bag lies somewhere between the Travel Compact and Travel Lite, so this is a good choice for lightweight travel and trekking in cool climates. Despite weighing just 1760 g (incl zip in liner), the Tennant Creek will keep you warm in temperatures down to 2°C (men)/6°C (women). On warmer nights, you can open up the anti-snag, 2-way zipper for increased ventilation. The comfortable DryTouch liner will detach for easy washing - very useful on extended trips.
The filling consists of extremely hollow bi-component fibres. A bi-component fibre comprises two different types of polyester. One type of polyester shrinks faster than another as it cools down during the processing phase. A natural curl develops thanks to the unequal shrinkage of the polyester types. This ensures that the fibre remains resilient and can always return to its original state even under extreme conditions. A filling that returns to its original shape and therefore keeps its volume can retain its insulation value longer. 3D-Helixthermo is also a hollow fibre. Hollow fibres provide better insulation than solid fibres because there is more room for stationary air, and stationary air means insulation. They are also lighter than solid fibres and have a smaller packing volume. The 3D-Helixthermo fibre is hollow for 30 %. Other existing fibres are hollow for a maximum of 20 %. This indicates that 3D-Helixthermo provides greater insulation as well as a lower weight. In addition, 3D-Helixthermo has a tremendous recovery capacity that allows the filling to return to its original state even after exposure to extreme heat, cold or pressure. 3D-Helixthermo is also non-allergenic, easy to wash and maintain.
Nomad’s unique DryTouch lining compromises on neither comfort nor technical specifications. It combines the advantages of polyester (strong, lightweight, compact and moisture moving) with the softness of cotton.
