The best protection is the one you don't feel: that's why the Splinter Shield VL has a very low weight, it is even the lightest sports glasses in the Alpina range - it weighs in at just 20 grams. The wearing comfort is accordingly very pleasant. Adjustable nose wings and temple ends also contribute to this. The self-tone (photochromatic) Varioflex technology always ensures optimum lighting conditions. The Splinter Shield VL also impresses with its convincing price/performance ratio.
Strongly curved discs surround the face optimally. They protect the eyes from draughts and cold and improve vision. The indirect airflow prevents fogging of the lenses.
Cold adjustable nose pads allow optimal adaptation to any nose width and shape. They are offered in a case together with the glasses.
2 Component Design
The combination of hard frame and soft material.
Varioflex is a glass technology in which the tint of the glass automatically adapts to the weather. The self-tinting (photochromic) screen reacts to visible light. When irradiated, chemical elements open and produce a flat, darkening effect. If the light intensity decreases, the chemical elements close and the disc becomes brighter again. This process takes place in a matter of seconds. The result: one disc for the most varied lighting conditions.
